Skipping School

Posted on Wednesday, April 9th, 2008 at

We’ve kind of reworked our schedule. The girls used to have Fridays off, but I found that getting them to do any of their work on Wednesday was quite the task. So we changed it to being off on Wednesday, but not really off… more of a scheduled fun day. Today was the first day [...]

Rescheduled Trip to the Federal Court House

Posted on Wednesday, March 26th, 2008 at

We found out today that the trip to the Federal Court House has been rescheduled!  I’m so excited as I think the girls are going to have fun with this.  Now I just have to come up with some great links about the things we’ll be doing so they’re not totally in the dark.
Here’s our [...]

They’re going! Young Christians Weekend

Posted on Monday, March 24th, 2008 at

God love them…
A friend of Sarah’s told her that another area church is going to Young Christians’ Weekend at Silver Dollar City in Branson and that everyone is invited.  I asked her several times for the information and didn’t get it (asked Sarah to get it from her, I mean).  Well, I called and we [...]

Valentine’s Day & Decluttering

Posted on Thursday, February 14th, 2008 at

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Kelly spent most of the day on the couch sick and I’m not sure now if Sarah isn’t coming down with something.  I sure hope not.  She spent some time in her room decluttering and I think she really enjoyed the after effects.  I closed off the kitchen and cooked dinner for [...]

Another getaway… Dare2Share

Posted on Sunday, February 10th, 2008 at

The girls went to the Dare2Share conference in St. Louis this weekend.  While there, they learned how to share the gospel with everyone.  The man who created this conference came up with the idea after the Columbine shootings.  It was an amazing adventure for them and I think they’re more than excited and ready to [...]

Winter Jam

Posted on Monday, January 28th, 2008 at

Another trip with their church youth group happened this weekend.  This time they went to “Winter Jam” in St. Charles.  They were able to spend 4 hours listening to popular Christian rock & rap.  Of course…they loved it.    Kelly came home with a new favorite group called “Skillet” and their cd.
Here’s a link if [...]

What about high school dances & sports?

Posted on Saturday, January 19th, 2008 at

I love getting that question.  So to answer it…
Sarah & a friend went to cheer on some friends at a basketball game (local high school) and they ended up staying for the Courtwarming dance.  She had a great time.

Soup Supper with the homeschool group

Posted on Sunday, January 13th, 2008 at

Our homeschool group had their annual soup supper tonight.  Way too much good food was served, lots of good chat and the speaker (Don Koonce) was exceptional.  He shared about how “The Star Spangled Banner” anthem came to be.

Christmas Break

Posted on Saturday, December 22nd, 2007 at

We’ve been on Christmas break for an extra long time this month. I tried to get the girls in ’school’ mind, but that didn’t work. We had that ice storm come through and lose power then a snowstorm to follow, a Christmas play to attend, Soup & Carols which the girls waitressed & [...]

An ordinary day…

Posted on Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 at

Started off with breakfast and then 10 minutes later… I’m hungry, what’s for lunch.. lol. Yeah right, that wasn’t happening.
The girls zoomed through math with good grades then it was onto science. No problem for Sarah, but Kelly didn’t ‘feel’ like doing hers so she wrote her report sloppy. Wrong thing to [...]
